Monarch at Rest
I missed the sunrise this morning, but nature had its own surprise waiting. Monarch butterflies drifted from flower to flower, feasting on milkweed as part of their incredible migration that stretches thousands of miles and spans multiple generations. The Monarchs rest in pine trees at night, and Long Island is a well-traveled stop along the way. Watching them move through the early light, I was reminded of their beauty, resilience and grace.
Note this is one of two Monarch Butterfly images I have in my series.
